Accreditation and quality

The quality of the results Scitec Research delivers to our customers is the most essential component of our company. Quality assurance and control are an integral part of our employees' daily activities, and monitoring and traceability of our analytical results have been systematically implemented.

The efforts we have invested in providing quality services have been recognized by several official institutions :

  • Since 1990, Eurofins Scitec has been certified by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) under the Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP certification nb 11203). As a result, Eurofins Scitec is authorized to perform quality control analyses on beverage waters exported to New York State, as well as to many other American states.
  • Eurofins Scitec has been accredited to EN 45001 since 2000, and to ISO IEC 17025 type C since 2002. This accreditation was awarded by the Swiss Accreditation Service (Accreditation STS 278). Numerous multilateral agreements guarantee international recognition of this accreditation.
  • The laboratory has been holding a Swissmedic authorization since 2010 (No. 1,009,516) for control of the chemical, physical, biochemical, and microbiological quality of pharmaceutical products by an independent external laboratory.
  • Eurofins Scitec is listed by SUVA for asbestos analyses.

All services provided by Eurofins Scitec comply with the company's quality control procedures. Test results must meet all the quality criteria associated with each procedure used. The main criteria are :

  • The analysis of duplicates to validate precision
  • The recovery of standards added to the original matrix within given limits
  • The recording of holding time between sampling and analysis
  • The traceability of sample handling and analytical results
  • The observation of Scitec Research’s Ethics Agreement by all employees

If a deviation exceeding the established standards is observed, the customer is informed, and mutually agreed-upon measures are undertaken to resolve non-compliance and to implement corrective action when necessary.

Cases requiring further research are subject to a Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA).
